Charlotte County concrete work from a Cape Coral owner-operator
Crete Concepts is a Cape Coral concrete company that also takes residential jobs in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and the North Port area. Owner Syd Martin is on every job himself. He learned the trade from his father as a second-generation Southwest Florida contractor and has more than 20 years of hands-on work.
Charlotte County calls usually involve a driveway that finally needs to come out, a pool deck that took a beating in the storms, or extra parking for a boat and trailer.
Concrete services for Charlotte County homes
- Concrete driveways: tear-out and re-pour for original driveways on older block homes, where the slab has settled, spalled or split along the old joints.
- Driveway extensions: added width along the side of an existing driveway, a common request from canal-front owners who need room for a boat trailer.
- Concrete patios: back patios sized for a table, a grill or a future screen enclosure, sloped so rain drains toward the yard instead of the lanai.
- Pool decks: replacement decks around pools where the old surface was damaged, undermined or lifted during recent hurricane seasons.
- Slabs, pads and walkways: level pads for generators, AC condensers, sheds and pool equipment, along with walkways to the front entry or side gate.
- Stamped concrete: patterned and colored finishes for entries, walkways and patios on homes that call for something beyond a broom finish.
- Concrete resurfacing: Spray-Crete coatings for structurally sound concrete whose surface has faded, stained or worn thin over the years.
- Removal and replacement: demolition and haul-off of broken concrete, followed by a fresh pour on a prepared base.
Local conditions we plan for
Canal-front lots. Punta Gorda Isles and the waterways around Port Charlotte put many homes right on a canal, with seawalls, docks and tight side yards. We plan how equipment and concrete will reach the pour and keep washout and debris away from the water.
Older block homes. Much of Port Charlotte is block homes with driveways patched more than once. When one is past saving, we remove it completely and rebuild the base before setting forms.
Hurricane recovery. Hurricane Ian hit Charlotte County hard in 2022. Some homeowners still have broken driveways and undermined slabs. We look at what failed and replace it instead of hiding damage under a new coat.
HOA and deed restrictions. Deed-restricted and HOA communities often require approval before a driveway, patio or color change. We provide the details your association wants so approval is in hand before booking.
Scheduling outside Cape Coral
Charlotte County is a drive up I-75 or US-41 from Cape Coral, so site visits and pours are grouped into planned travel days. Homes around Englewood and Rotonda are looked at case by case.
Photos first help a lot: a few pictures and a rough measurement let Syd tell you whether the job is a fit before anyone makes the trip. Small jobs under 200 sq ft can usually be priced from photos sent through the contact form, and the price calculator gives you a range on larger work.
Common questions
Do you really work in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda?
Yes. We take residential projects throughout the Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda area, planned around set travel days from Cape Coral.
My driveway was damaged in Hurricane Ian. Does it need replacing?
That depends on whether the base underneath held up. If only the surface is chipped or stained, resurfacing may be enough. If the slab has sunk or been undermined, we recommend breaking it out and pouring new.
Can you work on a canal lot with tight access?
Usually, yes. We check side yards, gates and the seawall area during the visit, and if access affects the price, we tell you up front.
Will I need a permit?
It depends on the work and on whether the home is inside Punta Gorda city limits or in unincorporated Charlotte County. We will tell you what applies to your project before you commit.
