Lehigh Acres work, done by the owner
Lehigh Acres is a drive east from our base in Cape Coral, and we plan our schedule around that so your job gets a full, focused day. Crete Concepts is owned by Syd Martin, a second-generation concrete contractor with more than 20 years of hands-on experience. He prices the work, he's on site when it's poured, and he's the one who signs off on the cleanup.
Much of what we do here is for homeowners in newer houses. The builder poured a basic driveway and a small slab out back, and now the family needs room for another car or a real patio. We also replace and add on to concrete at older homes across the area.
What we build in Lehigh Acres
- Driveway extensions: the most common request here, widening a builder driveway for a second or third vehicle, a boat or a trailer.
- Concrete driveways: new driveways and full replacements, formed so the slope works with the street and the swale.
- Concrete patios: extending the small builder slab behind the house into usable outdoor space.
- Pool decks: decks for new pools and larger decks around existing ones.
- Slabs, pads and walkways: shed slabs, generator and AC pads, trash can pads and side-yard walkways.
- Stamped concrete: a decorative front entry or patio to set a newer home apart from the ones next to it.
- Concrete resurfacing: Spray-Crete for stained or worn concrete that is still in solid condition.
- Removal and replacement: tearing out settled or broken sections and pouring them back level.
Local conditions we plan for
Sandy soil. Lehigh lots are mostly sand. Loose sand under a slab can settle, which leads to cracks and low spots that hold water. We compact the ground before we pour, and on softer or freshly filled areas we'll talk with you about adding a compacted stone base.
New construction. If your home was just finished or is still being built, the lot may not be at its final grade yet. Check with your builder before we schedule. When we tie into fairly new concrete, we match the height and edge of the existing slab so the transition is clean.
Big lots and long access. Larger lots can mean a long walk from the street to a backyard patio, sometimes through a narrow side yard. We figure out during the site visit whether the truck can reach the pour or whether it needs a pump, and you'll know before the job is scheduled.
Roadside swales. Many streets here drain into swales along the road, and where your driveway meets the street affects how water moves. Work near the road can fall under county rules, so we'll tell you whether your project needs a permit.
We also work in Gateway, Buckingham and east Fort Myers, along with Cape Coral and the rest of Lee County.
Common questions
Can you widen the driveway my builder poured?
Yes. We form the extension to the height and edge of your existing driveway and tie it in. The new concrete will be a slightly different shade at first, which is normal with any addition.
My yard is mostly sand. Is that a problem?
Sand is normal here and can hold a slab well when it's prepared right. We strip the sod, compact the ground and, where it's soft or recently filled, recommend a compacted stone base.
Do you come out to Lehigh Acres for small jobs?
Send photos of jobs under 200 sq ft through the contact form and we will price them from the photos. Small jobs are welcome, and we can often pair them with other work in the area.
Do I need a permit?
Some projects do, especially work near the road. We'll tell you whether your project needs a permit when we look at it.
