Patios built for Florida backyards
Every patio starts with the ground underneath it. We strip the sod, set forms to the right height and pitch so water runs away from your house, and pour a solid slab that's finished clean and cut with control joints to manage cracking.
Whether it's a simple spot for the grill, a slab for a future screen room or a full outdoor living area, you'll deal with the owner from the first call to the final cleanup.
Every standard patio includes
- 4-inch, 3,000 PSI concrete with fiber reinforcement
- Sod stripping and normal site prep
- Forming set for proper slope and drainage
- Broom finish and control joints
- Full cleanup when we're done
Popular upgrades
- Wire mesh reinforcement
- Compacted stone base
- 4,000 PSI concrete
- 5- or 6-inch thickness
- Stamped decorative finish
What affects the price of a patio
- Size and shape. Square footage drives most of the cost. Curves, notches and wrap-around corners take more forming time than a simple rectangle.
- Getting to the backyard. If the truck can't reach the pour, the concrete has to be wheeled in or pumped. Fences, tight side yards and A/C units all play into that.
- Height and fill. A low yard may need extra fill to bring the slab up to the right height at the slider. A high spot may need digging down.
- Finish and upgrades. Broom finish is the standard. Stamping, wire mesh, a stone base or extra thickness each add to the range you see in the calculator.
Patios in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Lee County
Most Cape Coral and North Fort Myers lots sit on sandy fill, and summer storms can drop a lot of water in an hour. A patio has to shed that water fast and away from the house. We set the pitch so rain heads toward the yard or a swale, never back toward the slider. On canal lots we also give runoff a clean path toward the seawall side.
Afternoon sun beats on a backyard slab from April through October. A light broom finish stays cooler underfoot than darker colors, which is worth thinking about if you'll be barefoot out there. Some neighborhoods in Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres have an HOA that wants to see plans first, so check before we schedule. Permit needs vary between Cape Coral and unincorporated Lee County, and we'll tell you if yours needs one.
How a patio job runs
- Price range. Use the calculator or call 239-841-6404 to get a starting range for your size and options.
- Site visit. Syd walks the backyard, checks the height at your door and confirms the layout with you.
- Prep and forms. We strip the sod, grade the base and set forms to the final height and pitch.
- Pour and finish. The slab is poured, broomed and jointed, then we clean up and go over curing with you.
Common questions
How much does a concrete patio cost?
A standard 200 sq ft patio starts at $3,100 under normal site conditions, and larger patios scale from there. Smaller jobs like pads, walkway sections or repairs are welcome too. Send a few photos and we'll price them individually. The price calculator gives you a range for your exact size and options in about a minute.
Can you pour a slab for a future screen enclosure?
Yes. Tell us it's for a screen room and we'll plan the size, thickness and edges with that in mind.
Can I extend my existing patio?
Yes. We can tie new concrete into an existing slab. Send a photo so we can check the condition and height of what's there.
