Pool decks sloped right and finished clean
A pool deck has to drain away from the pool and the house, sit level with the coping and look good doing it. We form and pour new decks and deck additions for homes across Cape Coral and Southwest Florida.
You don't have to figure out the square footage. Enter the overall pool-and-deck size and the pool size in the calculator and it does the math for you.
Every pool deck includes
- Forming and pitch away from the pool and house
- Fiber-reinforced concrete, broom finished
- Control joints laid out around the pool
- Full cleanup when we're done
Popular upgrades
- Screen-enclosure footers
- Stamped decorative finish
- Wire mesh reinforcement
- Compacted stone base
- Concrete pump for hard-to-reach backyards
What affects the price of a pool deck
- Pool cage and screen. Working inside an existing cage means hand-carrying or pumping concrete in. Screen panels sometimes need to come down for access.
- Enclosure footers. If a new cage is going up, the footers get poured with the deck. They're priced by the linear foot, separate from the deck area.
- Drainage plan. Water has to run away from the pool and the house at the same time. Decks with deck drains or tricky grades take more layout work.
- Broom or stamped. A broom finish is the standard and stays cooler. Stamped and colored finishes look sharper but add cost and can run warmer in the sun.
Pool decks in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Lee County
Pool decks in Southwest Florida live in the sun and the rain. A deck in Cape Coral or Fort Myers can get hot enough by midday to make kids hop across it, so color matters. Lighter tones and a broom or light-texture finish are easier on bare feet than dark stamped patterns. Pool water, sunscreen and splash-out also mean the deck needs a consistent pitch so nothing pools.
Most backyard pools here sit under a screen cage, and the deck carries the cage footers. That ties the deck to the enclosure work, so timing matters if you're also replacing the screen after storm damage. Many canal-front homes on Pine Island and in North Fort Myers have tight access through the side yard, which is where a concrete pump comes in. Whether a deck needs a permit depends on the job and where you live, and we'll sort that out with you.
How a pool deck job runs
- Measure the deck. Syd measures the full pool-and-deck area, the coping height and any cage footers.
- Plan the pitch. We lay out the slope so water moves away from both the pool and the house.
- Protect and prep. The pool and coping are protected, the base is graded and forms go in.
- Pour and joint. Concrete is placed, finished and jointed around the pool, then the area is cleaned.
Common questions
How do I figure out my pool deck's square footage?
Enter the overall pool-and-deck length and width, then the pool's length and width. The calculator subtracts the pool for you.
Can you pour footers for a screen enclosure?
Yes. Add the total linear feet of footer in the calculator and it's included in your range.
What if my pool isn't a rectangle?
Use the calculator for a starting range, then send photos or your site plan so we can confirm the exact area.
