When patching won't fix it, we replace it right
Badly cracked, sunken or poorly sloped concrete usually has a problem underneath that patching won't solve. We break out the failed concrete, haul it away, correct the base and slope, and pour new.
Driveways, patios, walkways and pool decks: you get a clean, level surface that drains the way it should.
Every replacement includes
- Demolition and haul-off of old concrete
- Base correction and compaction
- Forming for proper slope and drainage
- New fiber-reinforced concrete, broom finished
- Full cleanup when we're done
Popular upgrades
- Thicker concrete
- Wire mesh reinforcement
- Compacted stone base
- 4,000 PSI concrete
- Stamped finish on the new surface
What affects the price of concrete removal and replacement
- Thickness of the old slab. Old concrete can be thicker or more reinforced than expected. Heavier slabs take longer to break and weigh more to haul.
- Haul-off and disposal. Broken concrete goes to a recycling or disposal site, and load count adds up on larger jobs.
- Fixing the base. If the old slab sank, the soil under it needs attention. Adding fill or a compacted stone base adds to the job but addresses the cause.
- Equipment access. Open driveways are easy to reach with machines. Backyards behind fences or pool cages may need smaller equipment or hand demolition.
Concrete removal and replacement in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Lee County
Sandy fill soil is common across Cape Coral, North Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres. When it wasn't compacted well before the original pour, or water washed it out over time, the slab above it settles and cracks. Tree roots, leaking downspouts and heavy trucks speed that up. We break out the failed section, look at what caused it and correct the base before new concrete goes down.
Storm season adds its own damage. After a hurricane, we see driveways crushed by debris trucks and patios undermined by standing water in Fort Myers, Pine Island and around Lee County. Replacing just the damaged sections is sometimes possible, and sometimes a full replacement makes more sense. We'll give you a straight answer and tell you if your project needs a permit.
How a removal and replacement job runs
- Assess the damage. Syd looks at the cracks, sinking and slope to find what went wrong underneath.
- Break out and haul. The failed concrete is broken up, loaded out and taken off your property.
- Correct the base. Soil is regraded, filled and compacted, with stone added if the job calls for it.
- Pour new. New concrete is formed for proper drainage, poured, finished and jointed.
Common questions
Can cracked concrete be repaired instead?
Sometimes. A few isolated cracks can often be repaired. Widespread cracking, sinking or the wrong slope usually means replacement is the better long-term fix.
Is removal included in the price?
Yes. Select existing concrete in the calculator and standard removal and disposal are included in your range.
What if equipment can't reach the concrete?
Tight access can change the work involved, so we'll review it from photos and give you a straight answer.
